I have been a musician all of my life. Starting with piano at age 4 and adding violin and organ later, I have always had a love for music. Educated from both Weber State and Utah Valley University, I have been blessed by participating in private performances, on-stage theatrical productions, concerts featuring my piano quartet and many community events as an organist.
Why music? Music is math, language, history, art, physical education and science. Music is light and life. I love being part of this journey with students and witnessing the joy that comes from the study of music!
Areas of focus: theory, technique, aural skills, practicing tips, music history and performance preparation. Students will receive education in simple conducting and accompanying as well.
Areas of focus: organ technique, music theory, playing with pedals, organizing sound families, understanding organ terminology, and following a conductor.
Master Classes occur monthly in place of private lessons. This is a group setting where students perform for each other and learn to be good listeners. Topics may include music history and appreciation and music theory.
Ensembles offer opportunities for pianists to work together. Learning how to accompany other musicians is a much-needed skill. Annually, we participate in Monster Concerts, duet recitals and more.
